To be honest with you all, I've always avoided this State Park. Maybe it was having trails named after Rattlesnakes or the amount of Mountain Lion awareness signs I've seen in pictures of the trails and the fear that something would happy to Renni and I. Then I thought, ok, how often do things like that happen to an experienced, responsible hiker? ..Exactly. I've seen this trail and have had friends that have done it before so Renni and I packed up to give it a go!

This trail offers beautiful views of the rolling hills nearby and peaks in the distance, as well as a beautiful overview of the city of Denver in the background, tucked between the hills. As well-groomed the trail is, there are a few areas that are scrambly and rocky, which does require a bit of technical footwork. Starting off with a staircase of an incline, then pushing into switchbacks to get the initial pudh out of the way, this trail has consistently steady ups and downs to keep the heart racing and finishes off at the end with a beautiful river to post up, have lunch and chill out at. 10/10 recommend bringing a lunch and sticking your toes in the icy water before making your way back. All in all, Renni and I enjoy the challenge of this one and will definitely be back to explore more of Eldorado Canyon State Park! Happy hiking!

With all of the signs and warnings about snakes and lions at this park, I did want to provide y'all with some information to acknowledge before visiting this park, and things that every hiker should be aware of in general.
