The snow's melting and the mountains are coming alive again! That means that we can finally enjoy warmer hiking days, waterfalls and wildflowers ahead. I just recently went hiking with Renni and we explored the most beautiful waterfall hike the other day, which we wanted to share with y'all so you can check it out too. Since we've seen such a wild amount of rain lately, this waterfall hike was flowing out in Evergreen, CO., but the trail was mostly dry so make sure to hit this guy sooner than later.

Hike of the Week: Marshall Falls Loop

Rated as Moderate

45 minutes from Denver

4.8 miles RT

1,122 ft. elevation gain

Counter-clockwise route recommended*

Now, there's two ways to see this waterfall and to do this hike. You could hike straight to the waterfall, see it, then hike back down the same trail. It's only about 800 ft. elevation gain and you do get great views of the waterfall. BUT doing the loop only adds .4 miles on the trail, you get a bit more exercise in and by the time you get to the waterfall, you'll be ready for your hike snack, water and maybe dip your toes in. Plus there's a panoramic view on a huge rock when you reach the top of the incline. If this route is your choice, make sure that when you come to the loop's intersection, you go right on the trail (or counter-clockwise). This, in my opinion, gives you the most rewarding route for this particular hike.

You've seen the waterfall and finished your hike, yay! Now it's time for a cold beer and a nice meal, and I've got the perfect place to have your post hike relaxation while indulging in both, and it's right next to a flowing creek. Also, while you're driving through Evergreen, be sure to drive slower than normal for catching the glimpse of elk, foxes and other wildlife that enjoy taking a stroll through town every once in a while.

Renni and I sat on the patio (which is dog friendly, btw) and enjoyed the plantain chicken nachos, tuna tacos and a frosty 90 Shilling while taking in the scenery. Plus, it's on the way back to Denver, if that's where you're heading, so why not?

Hope y'all enjoy this hike! Make sure to tag me in your pics on Instagram so I can see you enjoying yourself just as much as we did!
